Bush tucker trialsAs ‘I’m a Celebrity, Get me Out of Here’ hits our screens again, we look at some of the secrets on the set, and how you can create a little crazy madness in your own events, just like these guys…

#1 Celeb secret…
Before the contestants are made public, when the producers refer to them they give them code names – very often using Disney characters.

For your event?
Did you know you can hire lookalikes for your events? Scatter some famous faces in your event for a real dash of celebrity. How about a Marilyn for your Hollywood awards? Or Jack Sparrow for your summer party?! Minions? Er… yeah, those too

Australian Jungle hat#2 Celeb secret…
Not everything on the set is real. Some of the rocks are made from papier mache for the camera operators to hide behind and things like the waterfall and pond have been lovingly ‘created’ by hand, not nature.

For your event?
Why not create your own set or production? We’ve got set builders and prop makers and all sorts. If you wanted rocks, we got ‘em, and loads more besides. From a full set build to one off pieces like a Narnia wardrobe door entrance, for example. Or your own jungle. You could actually have your own jungle.Bush tucker trial

Fancy some bush tucker? Joe Swash reckons that the “Crushed cockroach are the best – they taste nutty.”

For your event?
No, you probably don’t want crushed cockroaches. We can’t see that going down well at all – but there’s a couple of things to think of here. Firstly, unusual or outlandish food is increasingly popular for events – particularly anything with an experiential twist to it, or a touch of the Heston. And secondly, if bugs really ARE your thing; yeah, we got those too. We can offer a full I’m NOT a Celebrity activity as a team thing, or over dinner if you’re brave enough, and yes, you can hold a tarantula. They’re very lovingly cared for, just so you know. Would YOU put your hand in a box if you couldn’t see what was in there though?

#4 Celeb secret…
There’s something like 770 people working on I’m a Celebrity…

For your event?
OK, you’d need a really, really big event to require 770 people to run it. But any of you who usually organises the company events – how often do you actually get to enjoy them yourself? Too busy running around managing it? Can you imagine having someone else to come in with a team and take that headache away from you? Honestly, it’s probably cheaper than you think, and using event management experts means that your event content is often cheaper too, cos we know everyone in the business. So what you spend on help, you save on stuff. Win-win.

#5 Celeb secret…
In 2009 Gino D’Acampo got into hot water for catching, killing and cooking a rat. The incident landed ITV with a fine and with D’Acampo nearly being prosecuted, and since then the rules around food have been stricter!

For your event?
No rats, definitely. But you could have a day out catching or foraging for your own lunch before cooking it. Or how about overnight camping stays for the really brave amongst you, where you will learn to make fire, make a shelter and make your own dinner. Spend the night under the stars, eating your own bush tucker – it’s an amazing option for team building. We were going to say better than paintballing, but maybe doing both is good…
